How to Get Rid Of Dandruff

Get ready to say goodbye to your snow-capped shoulders! Learn how to kick dandruff to the curb with these helpful tips.

Have you ever witnessed white flaky stuff on the shoulders, front, or back of your shirt? There’s a good chance that’s dandruff. Dandruff is classified as dead skin cells of the scalp. While it’s not a bacterial or viral issue, dandruff can interfere with a person’s overall appearance and make them feel self-conscious. Thus, it can considerably become a major concern. The most common anti-dandruff weapon available is Head & Shoulders. Like everything else, this product may not work for some. Luckily, there are other ways to get rid of dandruff.
Cut Down on Hair-Washing
Don’t wash your hair daily. That’s too excessive. Try washing your hair once every other day. Washing your hair less will allow your scalp to breathe and secrete natural oils. Natural oils lubricate your scalp. This, of course, is a good thing. The primary role of the natural oils is to ensure that your hair isn’t dry.
Allow Shampoo to Sink in
dandruff removal
Think of dandruff shampoo as Neosporin. Shampoo doesn’t fulfill its purpose right away. Similarly to Neosporin, it’s advisable that you leave the shampoo alone once you apply it to your hair. Let the dandruff shampoo settle for 3-5 mins. This will allow it to work into your scalp.
Apple Cidar Vinegar
Vinegar alone is notorious for being a universal cleaning agent. Respectively, apple cidar vinegar works just as well for cleaning anything, including hair. Create a hairw
ash concoction of half apple cidar and half water. Wash your hair as you normally would. Next, carefully apply the mixture to your hair. Close your eyes to avoid it getting into your eyes. Work it into your scalp thoroughly and leave your hair alone for about 10 minutes. Finally, rinse with water. Do this for a week or as needed if dandruff still persists after the one week mark.
In addition to the aforementioned tips, exercise and a multivitamin would help prevent dandruff. Consume the recommended daily dosage of 8 cups of water as a precaution.
