A good amount of people in today’s world are familiar with eyebags. Of course, mostly everyone’s aware that a poor sleep schedule or inadequate sleep are leading causes of eyebags. Unfortunately, that’s just the beginning of a poor sleeper’s problems. When there are eyebags, there are dark eye circles. Dark circles usually start with puffy eyelids and cast a shadow over the eyelid to give appearance to dark half circles under the eyes. Puffy eyelids aren’t the only cause of dark circled eyes. Areas underneath the eye can become engorged with just enough blood to be noticed. Luckily, like eyebags, there are numerous ways to treat dark eye circles.

Adequate Sleep

Although it’s uncertain whether a poor amount of sleep or lack of causes dark eye circles, it’s a general rule to get adequate sleep for health reasons. We’re talking at least anywhere between 7-8 hours of sleep. Try to get into a habit of sleeping in that range. If you already do, then ask yourself “How’s my diet?”

A Good Diet

As just implied, poor eating habits may be a factor of the cause of dark circled eyes. Have at least a fairly balanced diet that includes fruits, veggies, and 8 cups of water a day. Also, take a multivitamin once daily with your first meal.

Treating Allergies

An allergy attack typically results in a constant runny nose, watery eyes, and sneezing. The more you sneeze, the more puffy your eyes get. The surrounding areas of your eyes would also be affected. Take care of your allergies as soon as they hit you. There are plenty of drowsy and non-drowsy over-the-counter medications for treating allergies.

Sliced Cucumber

While sliced cucumber helps get rid of eyebags, they can also help eliminate dark eye circles. Take two slices of cucumber, lay down, place one on each eye, and close them. Rest for about 15 minutes and remove.

Vitamin K

Nowadays, there are creams of all kinds that help relieve a wide range of skin conditions or affected skin. Look into a cream that contains vitamin K. Use it in accordance to the directions til those dark eye circles disappear.

Don’t panic when you have dark eye circles. You have a great arsenal of anti-dark eye circle weaponry. One important thing to keep in mind is to remove makeup prior to going to bed, if applicable. Not doing so will affect your skin in the long run.
